Storekeeper (JD-0018)

Role Overview

The Senior or Junior Storekeeper will oversee hospital storage operations across medicines, pharmacy items, equipment, consumables, and general supplies. This position focuses on the correct receipt, safe storage, controlled issue, and accurate tracking of materials so that both clinical and non-clinical teams receive what they need on time. The role also helps maintain proper inventory records, stock availability, and adherence to hospital procedures and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Accept incoming deliveries, check them carefully, and log medicines, equipment, consumables, and other general items.
• Arrange materials in an organized and safe manner, following labeling rules, FIFO/FEFO practices, and storage condition requirements.
• Provide supplies to departments only against approved requisitions.
• Update stock records in ERP or manual systems and prepare reports on usage and consumption.
• Track inventory levels and expiry dates, then initiate requests for replenishment when needed.
• Assist with audits and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and hospital standards, including NABH and JCI.
• Maintain cleanliness and security in the store area and handle outdated or expired items appropriately.
• Perform additional tasks assigned by the reporting manager.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate should be a graduate from any discipline and hold a diploma or certification in Materials Management, Logistics, or Inventory Control. A background of 3 to 5 years in hospital or institutional storekeeping is required. Familiarity with ERP or inventory software, stock monitoring, and expiry control is important, along with strong coordination and organizational ability.
