Stewarding Shift Leader

Role Overview

The Stewarding Shift Leader will manage the organization and cleanliness of kitchen and dishwashing areas, ensuring all cleaning supplies and utensils are properly stored and maintained. This role involves coordinating stock rotation, completing sanitation checklists, and operating cleaning equipment effectively to uphold hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Organize and manage cleaning chemicals, supplies, pots, pans, serving utensils, and other kitchen wares carefully.
• Rotate stock by moving items from storage to kitchen as needed.
• Complete cleaning checklists to ensure timely cleaning and sanitization tasks.
• Collect used pans from cooking lines and transport them to the pot washing station.
• Clean and maintain designated sanitation areas, including the dish room ceiling, walls, and vents.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as dishwashing machines, hand wash stations, pot-scrubbing stations, and trash compactors.
• Maintain orderly storage of clean kitchen wares.
• Keep loading dock areas clean and organized.
• Assist management by supporting hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluation, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching of employees while acting as a role model.
• Follow all company, safety, and security policies and report maintenance issues, accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to management.
• Complete necessary safety training and certifications as required.
• Maintain a professional and clean uniform and personal appearance, safeguard confidential company information, and protect company assets.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with coworkers and guests.
• Build positive working relationships and collaborate with teammates to achieve shared objectives.
• Ensure quality standards are consistently met.
• Physically handle tasks involving moving or lifting objects weighing up to 25 pounds, as well as standing, sitting, walking for extended periods, and performing motions such as bending and twisting.
• Perform other reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.

Education and Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Minimum one year of relevant experience in a similar role preferred.
• No prior supervisory experience necessary.
