About the Role
Windmill Healthcare Group is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to join their Care Team at Windmill House Care Centre located in Churchtown, Mallow, County Cork, Ireland. The position requires candidates to hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) and a strong passion for gerontological nursing care.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver efficient, person-centred care to the residents.
- Maintain and promote high standards of professional nursing in a nurturing environment that addresses physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of residents.
- Build supportive relationships with residents, their relatives, and visitors to ensure comfort and support.
- Ensure strict compliance with all Windmill Healthcare policies among all staff.
- Uphold agreed procedures regarding the control, administration, and safekeeping of medications.
- Possess knowledge of HIQA standards and actively contribute during inspections, ensuring full compliance of the care centre.
- Manage admissions processes accurately including the completion of all necessary documentation.
- Coordinate with healthcare professionals to facilitate smooth resident discharge to community care, assuring continuity.
- Receive daily guidance and support from Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) or Director of Nursing (DON).
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Must be a registered nurse on the Irish live register with an active NMBI PIN.
- Demonstrated clinical experience in gerontological or residential nursing care.
- Familiarity with HIQA standards and the Health Act Regulations 2013.
- Fluent command of verbal and written English and eligibility to work in Ireland.
- Strong communication and listening abilities.
- Capability to effectively work within and lead a care team.
