Software Test Engineer

About the Role

Geoalgo Technologies is seeking a meticulous Software Test Engineer to join our development team in Kolkata. The primary focus of this position is to ensure high software quality through comprehensive testing, effective bug identification, and delivering a smooth user experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct manual tests—and potentially automated tests—covering functional, regression, and integration scenarios.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects using issue tracking systems such as Jira.
• Create detailed, clear, and thorough test cases and scenarios, including edge cases based on product specifications.
• Work closely with developers and product teams to reproduce issues and confirm bug resolutions.
• Engage in release testing phases to prevent critical bugs from reaching production environments.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum of two years’ experience in manual software testing, specifically for web or mobile applications.
• Strong grasp of software testing methodologies including SDLC, STLC, test case formulation, and defect life cycles.
• Experienced with defect tracking tools like Jira or Trello and API testing tools such as Postman.
• Excellent analytical abilities with careful attention to user flows and boundary conditions.
• Effective communication skills to clearly document defects and collaborate with development teams.

Compensation

The monthly salary ranges from 25000 to 50000 INR based on experience and skills.
