Social Care Worker

About the Role

Attuned Healthcare is looking for committed Social Care Workers to support its residential services in Kilkenny and nearby areas. The organisation is grounded in a person-centred, trauma-informed approach and focuses on helping children, young people, and families achieve positive and lasting outcomes. This opportunity is based in a small residential setting in Knocktopher, Co. Kilkenny, with a maximum of four residents, and the role may suit candidates interested in either permanent full-time or part-time work.

What You’ll Do

• Provide person-focused support that encourages independence, everyday self-care, and practical life skills.
• Help residents stay connected to the community by supporting appointments, social outings, recreational activities, and family contact.
• Assist with routine household tasks such as meal preparation, laundry, and general domestic duties while maintaining dignity and promoting autonomy.
• Work alongside a multidisciplinary team to plan, document, review, and monitor care plans and individual goals.
• Keep clear and accurate records using digital tools and standard documentation practices.
• Follow HIQA requirements, safeguarding procedures, health and safety rules, and recognised best practice.
• Contribute to a secure, respectful, and supportive environment for residents.
• Deliver care within a small residential service supporting up to four residents, ensuring tailored support for each individual.

Requirements

• A recognised qualification in Social Care or Health Care at QQI Level 7 or above, or equivalent; alternatively, evidence of enrolment in, or current study toward, a CORU-recognised Social Care qualification at QQI Level 7.
• Current CORU registration, or proof that an application is in progress.
• Strong spoken and written communication skills, including the ability to plan, record, and report effectively.
• Confidence using IT systems for documentation and care records.
• A full, clean driving licence.
• A sound understanding of residential care best practice and the rights and protection of individuals.
• Legal permission to work in Ireland and successful Garda Vetting.
• A professional approach based on respect, empathy, flexibility, and initiative.
• The ability to work well both on your own and as part of a team.

Additional Information

Salary is listed at €35,490 to €38,532, depending on experience. The role is offered as a permanent position and is available in both full-time and part-time formats.
