Social Care Worker

Role overview

Inspire is seeking a Social Care Worker for Cuan Mhic Giolla Bhríde in Faughart, County Louth. This is a permanent, full-time post of 37.5 hours per week, with pay set at €18.54 to €23.45 per hour.

The role focuses on delivering hands-on care and emotional support to adults with learning disabilities and complex needs. The aim is to help people live with greater independence, stay connected to their communities, make informed choices, and work toward personal goals and aspirations.

What the job involves

• Assisting with personal care needs such as showering, bathing, toileting, and changing
• Supporting daily practical tasks including feeding, drink assistance, and medication support
• Helping with everyday household duties such as laundry, cleaning, general upkeep, and daily record keeping
• Building supportive relationships and contributing to a calm, home-like setting
• Using personal safety techniques when necessary and working in accordance with individual risk assessments

Candidate profile

The ideal applicant will be a compassionate Registered Social Care Worker with a valid driving licence and the confidence to work in a service where behaviours that challenge may occur. You should be able to follow agreed support plans and risk assessments, deliver care with dignity and warmth, work either independently or within a team, and develop respectful relationships with the people supported.
