Role Overview

The organization is looking for an experienced Snowflake Developer to support data warehousing, transformation, and migration work for an insurance domain program. The role is based across Chennai, Hyderabad, and Pune, and requires strong hands-on expertise in Snowflake, DBT, SQL, and Datastage.

Experience and Core Technical Expectations

• Total experience required is 6 to 10 years.
• Strong practical knowledge of Snowflake development, especially ELT workflows using Snowflake SQL.
• Ability to design and implement complex stored procedures and build data pipelines with DBT.
• Hands-on exposure to Snowflake utilities, SnowSQL, DBT, and Datastage.
• Advanced SQL capability is mandatory.
• Good understanding of ETL, DWH concepts, and DataStage-based workflows.
• Familiarity with job scheduling or monitoring tools such as Control-M is expected.
• Exposure to big data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark is an added advantage.
• Cloud migration experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Use advanced Snowflake features such as resource monitors, RBAC, warehouse sizing, query tuning, and zero-copy cloning.
• Investigate and resolve complex issues related to data pipelines using DBT.
• Develop transformation processes that manage data structures, metadata, dependencies, and workload coordination.
• Lead end-to-end Snowflake cloud data warehouse implementations and support migration of on-premise warehouses from other ETL platforms to Snowflake with DBT.
• Apply Snowflake data-sharing features to support cloud-based data consumption.
• Review architectural and technical solutions for active projects and align with tech leads on migration strategies and best practices.
• Work on a large-scale insurance analytics platform covering policy administration, claims processing, and regulatory reporting.
• Ensure the solution supports secure, scalable, and high-performance processing in line with BFSI compliance expectations.
