Job description
Overview
This permanent full-time position is based at the Knowle Hill Recycling Centre in Exmouth, EX8 2NS. The role offers a rate of £12.81 per hour for 40 hours of work weekly, scheduled from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Wednesday through Sunday, with Monday and Tuesday off as rest days. Benefits include a monthly site performance bonus, availability of overtime, 20 days of annual leave plus 8 bank holidays, full personal protective equipment (PPE), and additional company perks offered by SUEZ.
Job Purpose and Duties
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service by guiding and assisting the public in using the recycling site efficiently, ensuring maximum material recovery. Key duties include maintaining precise records of material removals, managing container exchanges by coordinating with relevant personnel to maintain adequate storage space, and keeping your designated areas on site orderly and clean. Additionally, you must ensure compliance with health, safety, and welfare legislation, operate within the terms of the site permit, and adhere to all company policies and procedures. Other reasonable tasks related to the job may be assigned.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic team player with a strong customer service focus, willing to support the existing site team in maintaining high operational standards. While previous experience with mobile plant equipment is preferred, comprehensive training will be provided. A flexible attitude towards work scheduling is important to accommodate coverage during colleagues' absences.
