Overview

This role as a Senior Software Engineer B2 engages in the design, development, and refinement of secure, scalable enterprise-level applications, primarily using Spring Boot and Core Java. The position operates in a hybrid work environment and supports critical retail banking platforms to improve customer experiences and operational efficacy across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and design robust backend services using Spring Boot and Core Java targeting scalable enterprise application needs.
• Ensure code modularity, cleanliness, and reusability for easy maintenance and future enhancements of essential business software.
• Enhance application responsiveness and stability by identifying performance issues through profiling and applying tuning techniques.
• Work collaboratively with product owners, business analysts, and QA teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Conduct rigorous code reviews to uphold quality standards, secure coding, and optimal performance.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive unit, integration, and regression testing to ensure deployment reliability.
• Integrate backend components with databases, message brokers, and external systems to facilitate secure and efficient data transfer.
• Diagnose and resolve production-level issues effectively to ensure minimal service disruption.
• Document architectural designs, technical decisions, and procedures supporting knowledge transfer and operational excellence.
• Coordinate with DevOps for seamless CI/CD pipelines tailored for Spring Boot services.
• Adhere to secure development practices and regulatory compliance especially in handling sensitive financial and customer data related to retail banking.
• Participate in prioritizing technical debt reduction and driving continuous system improvements for enhanced stability and user satisfaction.
• Mentor junior developers by sharing expertise in Core Java, Spring Boot, and contemporary software engineering approaches to boost team capabilities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Demonstrated strong expertise in Core Java and Spring Boot, developing enterprise-grade applications.
• Sound knowledge of microservices architecture, REST API design, and integration best practices for high-scale systems.
• Experience with relational database systems including query optimization to create reliable data access layers.
• Understanding of retail banking domains, processes, channels, and products to effectively interpret domain requirements.
• Experience in agile work environments and use of tools for task tracking, code review, and collaborative development in hybrid setups.
• Skilled in automated testing development and utilization of build systems promoting continuous integration and delivery.

Certifications

Preference for candidates holding an Oracle Certified Professional Java Programmer certification or an equivalent recognized enterprise Java certification.
