Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Reservations Specialist to join our Reservations team in Queenstown. This senior position involves overseeing reservation activities and providing leadership within the department. The successful candidate will manage communication channels, maximize sales opportunities, provide support and mentorship to colleagues, and contribute to process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle incoming queries via phone, web chat, and email, converting them into confirmed bookings.
• Optimize sales across wholesale and retail channels.
• Assist the Reservations Coordinator by training and coaching Reservations Consultants daily.
• Assume leadership responsibilities during Coordinator absence.
• Identify and recommend improvements to systems and procedures.
• Serve as the primary expert on product knowledge to effectively address guest inquiries.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience using reservations or sales software; familiarity with FareHarbor is advantageous.
• Professional and confident communication skills over phone and email.
• Comfortable working with numerical targets and sales metrics.
• Proficient in Microsoft Teams, Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Experience in guest service, preferably in the tourism sector.
• A cooperative team player willing to support colleagues' growth and development.
• A tourism-related qualification or frontline sales experience is beneficial but a strong positive attitude aligning with company values is essential.

Employment Details and Benefits

• Position Type: Permanent full-time role based in Queenstown.
• Guaranteed hours amounting to 60 per fortnight.
• Hourly wage: $29.75 NZD.
