Senior Production Planner - Manufacturing

Overview

Byrne Mech is inviting applications for an experienced Senior Production Planner to enhance our manufacturing operations based in Athenry, County Galway, Ireland. This pivotal role involves orchestrating production schedules, optimizing capacity planning, and guaranteeing timely delivery to customers within a dynamic manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and update production schedules for various manufacturing cells utilizing the company ERP system.
• Collaborate closely with Operations, Production, Purchasing, and Sales teams to fulfill customer requirements and delivery deadlines.
• Assist the Operations Leadership Team in capacity assessment, recognizing bottlenecks, and enhancing planning procedures.
• Lead initiatives to identify and execute improvements in planning systems and processes.
• Manage finished goods inventory, including determination of pack sizes and maintenance of safety stock.
• Coordinate sales order delivery commitments considering material availability and production capacity.
• Partner with Production teams to implement daily and weekly production plans.
• Track and respond to schedule performance to sustain operational effectiveness.

Required Experience and Skills

• At least two years of work experience in production planning or scheduling roles.
• Solid knowledge and operational experience with ERP systems and MRP planning.
• Background in small to medium manufacturing environments is advantageous.
• Demonstrated experience in supporting or deploying new planning methodologies.
• Familiarity with managing Non-Stock Items (NSI) is a plus.
• Proficient with intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities.
• Excellent organizational and meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Capacity to juggle competing priorities and resolve production planning conflicts efficiently.
• Self-driven with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
