Senior Policy Coordinator

Role Overview

The Senior Policy Coordinator is a pivotal figure in driving the National Women's Council (NWC)'s strategic goals centered on advancing women's equality, with a strong emphasis on enhancing women's safety and addressing all forms of gender-based violence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage policy formulation, advocacy efforts, research, campaigns, events, and strategic initiatives targeting domestic, sexual, and gender-based violence.
• Ensure that all activities adhere strictly to NWC's feminist principles and align with the organization's Strategic Plan.
• Provide in-depth strategic analysis and formulate clear policy positions and outputs.
• Oversee project management functions and support coordination of a small team or project personnel as necessary.
• Build and maintain robust relationships and alliances with both statutory and non-statutory bodies, engaging closely with NWC members and other stakeholders.
• Represent the NWC in relevant public platforms and forums.
• Maintain an intersectional feminist perspective, promoting inclusivity of women in all their diversity within every aspect of the role.

Additional Information

This position reports to the Head of Policy and operates within a broad scope that covers diverse issues like domestic and sexual violence, harassment, technology-driven abuse, and structural challenges such as housing insecurity linked to violence against women.
