Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Frontend Developer skilled in Vue to lead the development of our residential aged care software, specifically improving safety and connectivity in care delivery in Australia. As a key member of our Platform Engineering team, you will collaborate with teams from Canada and Australia, including Clinical, Finance, and Reporting departments, to create superior user experiences in the AlayaCare Residential product.
Your main responsibility will be migrating the Resi platform from AngularJS to Vue 3 while enhancing aspects such as performance, accessibility, and maintainability. You will also contribute to shared component libraries, automated testing, and work within a modern, AI-driven development setup utilizing a contemporary frontend stack combined with a cloud-native backend.
Technical Environment
The frontend utilizes Vue 3 (version 3.5), TypeScript, JavaScript ES6+, Vite, Pinia, PrimeVue, and Cypress for testing. The backend is powered by C#, .NET, and MSSQL Server. Containers run on Docker and Kubernetes within AWS infrastructure, and the pipeline integrates Git and Azure DevOps. Tools like Jasper Report and DataDog support reporting and monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high-performance, accessible Vue 3 interfaces that streamline work processes for care providers.
- Lead the transition of functionalities from AngularJS to Vue, ensuring improved user experience without loss of functionality.
- Identify and fix UI/UX inconsistencies during migration to guarantee a seamless experience.
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions to promote best practices and innovative frontend solutions.
- Implement and upkeep component-level and end-to-end automated testing using Cypress to preserve product quality.
- Optimize frontend performance focusing on bundle size and rendering efficiency while maintaining compliance with WCAG accessibility standards.
- Monitor production deployments, investigate user-reported issues, and deliver timely fixes to enhance system reliability and user trust.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience with a strong emphasis on frontend development.
- Proven track record in building single-page applications using Vue, preferably Vue 3, along with TypeScript and modern ES6+ JavaScript.
- Experienced in migrating or upgrading large-scale frontend applications, especially from AngularJS to Vue or React, managing both legacy and new codebases.
- Deep understanding of component architectures, reactive programming, and state management libraries like Pinia or Vuex.
- Proficient with modern build tools such as Vite or Webpack, CSS/SCSS for creating responsive and accessible user interfaces.
- Skilled in writing and maintaining tests with frameworks like Cypress to ensure robust quality controls.
- Capable of making informed technical decisions amid uncertainty, facilitating clear communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders, including cross-time zone collaboration.
- Eager to continuously learn emerging technologies, remain updated on industry trends, and effectively utilize AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate production.

Contract Details
This is a fully remote, full-time contract position lasting 12 months.
Compensation
The salary range for this role is CAD 100,000 to CAD 125,000 annually, complying with British Columbia's pay transparency laws, reflecting the organization's commitment to equitable remuneration.
