Senior Buyer

Job Overview

The Senior Buyer is responsible for validating the technical specifications provided by vendors against user requirements, conducting secondary negotiations, exploring alternative vendors, and managing procurement for specific items or categories across multiple manufacturing sites or project procurement categories.

Key Responsibilities

• Initiate and float inquiries for critical items based on user needs.
• Verify and approve the alignment of technical requirements from users with vendor specifications.
• Conduct second round negotiations with vendors; finalize deals directly if under a threshold or coordinate with the buying manager above a certain value.
• Place orders for approved items and ensure accurate input of procurement details into the SAP system.
• Provide prompt responses and resolutions to both internal and external audit queries related to procurement, assisting other buyers as needed.

Educational and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B.Tech/B.E.)
• 6 to 9 years of experience in category-specific sourcing and manufacturing sectors.
• Preferably experienced in category-based purchasing and supply management within plant operations.
