About the Role and Company
Join a pioneering global logistics technology firm that enhances freight management through comprehensive cargo tracking solutions. This role is focused on integrating AI into backend Java development to revolutionize how engineering teams build and deliver products on a cloud-native platform optimizing supply chain operations worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion AI adoption across the software engineering department.
- Create and deploy development workflows powered by Large Language Models (LLMs).
- Establish project frameworks and best practices for AI-enhanced software development.
- Develop reusable AI programming prompts, agent workflows, and maintain coding standards.
- Assess and integrate new AI technologies to enhance developer productivity.
- Coach and guide developers in utilizing AI coding assistants effectively.
- Set standards to ensure quality and security of AI-generated code.
- Prototype innovative LLM-based solutions, including local LLM implementations.
- Architect and build high-performance backend applications utilizing Java and Spring Boot.
- Design scalable microservices and secure RESTful APIs.
- Implement event-driven systems with Apache Kafka.
- Optimize PostgreSQL database design and performance.
- Develop and deploy AWS cloud-native applications.
- Engage in architecture and design review sessions.
- Lead code reviews and mentor fellow developers.
- Maintain software quality through automated testing and continuous integration/delivery processes.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum six years of professional experience with Java and Spring Boot development.
- Strong background in AI-assisted software development using tools such as OpenAI Codex or Claude Code, with a structured approach to code generation and validation.
- Experience managing multi-agent configurations for development workflows.
- Familiarity with integrating Model Context Protocol (MCP) extensions into development tooling.
- Hands-on experience hosting or interacting with private LLMs on AWS; expertise in Amazon Bedrock is a plus.
- Knowledge of vector databases and vector distance computation for applications like data analysis and product matching.
- Practice building AI-driven agents automating non-coding operational activities such as ETA updates.
- AI-related certifications considered advantageous.
- Proficiency with Spring Framework, REST API development, Apache Kafka, and microservices architecture.
- Competence in PostgreSQL database design and tuning.
- Experience using Maven, JUnit, Docker, Terraform, and AWS deployment tools including ECS/EKS, S3, API Gateway, and CloudFront.
- Familiar with CI/CD workflows and version control with Git within Agile/Scrum environments.
Desirable Qualifications
- Knowledge of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques.
- Experience developing AI-assisted developer platforms or internal tooling.
- Background in logistics, transport, customs, or e-commerce platforms is beneficial.
