Role Overview
We seek a knowledgeable Semiconductor and Microelectronics Specialist to examine device performance, scrutinize fabrication techniques, evaluate technical materials and datasets, and clarify intricate engineering topics. The role might involve aspects of semiconductor physics, microfabrication, integration of processes, device modeling, scaling, and reliability analysis. Prior experience in AI is not a prerequisite.
Contract Details
- Type: Freelance contractor, project-based
- Engagement: Flexible hours depending on project needs
- Location: Fully remote
- Compensation: Hourly rate between $60 and $130
- Selection process includes application assessment, subject expertise evaluation, and client review
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze fundamental principles and behavior of semiconductor devices
- Examine microfabrication and process integration approaches
- Assess device scaling effects, operational performance, manufacturing yield, and reliability aspects
- Evaluate semiconductor materials and electronic fabrication components
- Interpret research data, technical findings, and engineering documents
- Communicate complex microelectronics topics in accessible language
- Detect technical gaps, errors, or unsupported claims in materials
- Offer structured critique to enhance AI-generated engineering outputs
- Work collaboratively with other remote technical contributors
Candidate Requirements
- Advanced academic qualification in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or similar
- Proven expertise or research experience in semiconductor or microelectronic devices
- Strong foundation in semiconductor physics, device modeling techniques, or reliability engineering
- Hands-on experience with fabrication processes including microfabrication and process integration
- Ability to explain complex technical subjects effectively and precisely
- Experience in design, manufacturing, or development of semiconductor devices
- Familiarity with yield improvement, failure mode analysis, and reliability testing protocols
- Record of contributions to technical publications, patents, or research and development initiatives
