Self Checkout Attendant

Overview

Join Walmart Canada as a Self Checkout Attendant to develop essential skills in customer service and retail operations while engaging directly with customers. Key Duties

• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the self checkout area, ensuring it is free from clutter, spills, and unnecessary objects.
• Promote Walmart initiatives such as credit card programs, product protection plans, and charitable activities when relevant.
• Provide clear and friendly assistance to customers at self checkout, helping them complete transactions efficiently and handling interventions by explaining procedures or escalating issues to management.
• Respond appropriately to electronic article surveillance (EAS) alarms and accurately document any failure to deactivate incidents.
• Manage Scan & Go equipment by ensuring scanners are returned properly after use.
• Be flexible with work schedules, including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet business demands.

Challenges Associated with the Role

• Handle a high volume of tasks in a fast-paced environment, including overnight shifts, while maintaining focus and energy.
• Manage physical activities such as standing for long periods, lifting items up to 50 lbs, and performing repetitive stocking and organizing duties to maintain store standards.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $18.40.
