Security Guard

Job Overview

The Security Guard is responsible for leading daily operations and coordination of the security team to safeguard company assets, property, and personnel. This includes managing shifts, scheduling, and training to maintain a safe and secure environment, and actively preventing illegal or inappropriate activities through patrols and monitoring.

Primary Responsibilities

• Defend life and company assets by identifying, investigating, resolving, and reporting security breaches or incidents following organizational policies.
• Provide detailed briefings to the security team at shift starts, conveying important updates and security concerns.
• Conduct random and scheduled patrols of company premises and surrounding perimeters, including gates, doors, and parking areas, to detect intrusion and maintain security.
• Report illegal acts such as theft or vandalism encountered during patrols to the appropriate law enforcement agencies.
• Regulate and monitor access of employees, visitors, and vehicles to prevent theft, hazards, or vandalism, and restrict areas when necessary.
• Detain unauthorized individuals or trespassers and involve police when required; also contact emergency responders like fire services in case of fire.
• Maintain and review daily activity reports for incidents such as equipment or property damage, theft, unauthorized persons, or suspicious objects.
• Enforce rules by warning or apprehending violators and evicting them when necessary.
• Ensure alarm systems, CCTV, and emergency detection equipment function properly and report malfunctions to management.
• Manage building system controls such as air conditioning and communicate any malfunctions to facilities management.
• Administer first aid or CPR as needed, provided qualified.
• Coordinate and escort individuals within the company premises as directed by management.
• Maintain a proactive approach toward health and safety guidelines.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum education: High School diploma or equivalent; diploma in any field acceptable.
• Mandatory trainings include Emergency Response Compatibility and First Aid certification.
• Exhibit confident, composed personality with a positive attitude at all times.
• Maintain good grooming and organization standards.
• Physically fit and capable of frequent movement required by the role.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer usage.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Strong reporting and documentation capabilities.
• Willingness to work rotational 24/7 shifts and extended hours.
• Possess keen observational skills for identifying irregularities.
• Effective team leadership skills, adaptable to multicultural environments and capable of collaborating with all organizational levels.
• Highly attentive to detail, able to multitask efficiently and maintain high surveillance standards.
• Responsive and resourceful during emergencies and ad-hoc scenarios.
• Self-motivated, dependable, energetic with good initiative and ownership of responsibilities.

• Hands-on experience with operating security detection and emergency equipment, including training team members on their use.

Experience

• At least 3 to 5 years of experience in security roles within various industries is essential.
• Proven ability to manage work schedules, assign tasks efficiently, prioritize duties, and monitor team performance.
