Safety Team Member (Night Shift)

About the Role

Join Unite Students as a Safety Team Member based in Cardiff, working permanent night shifts. This role involves ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of students living in our accommodations throughout the night. You will be the supportive and reassuring presence that promotes a welcoming atmosphere. Working 42 hours over four nights weekly, shifts run between 8 PM and 7 AM, including a 30-minute unpaid break. The salary is £32,050 annually with additional bonuses and benefits.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for students needing support or reassurance during overnight hours.
• Maintain safety in buildings by responding calmly to emergencies like fire alarms, noise issues, or maintenance concerns.
• Ensure all students feel welcomed and respected, providing empathetic and professional assistance.
• Collaborate with day and night teams to guarantee smooth operations and thorough handovers.
• Keep the premises tidy, safe, and well-maintained.
• Observe and act on wellbeing or welfare matters to assist students in need.
• Represent the brand by exemplifying the CARE principles: Connect, Act, Respect, and Encourage.

Candidate Profile

• Enthusiastic about engaging with people and fostering a safe, inclusive environment.

• Committed to ethical conduct and supporting others consistently.
• Experience in customer service or residential settings is advantageous but not essential; your approach and interpersonal skills are most important.
