Role Overview
This full-time Safety Officer position is based onsite in Jeddah, Makkah. The officer will be accountable for overseeing daily health and safety operations within the manufacturing plant, including performing regular safety inspections, identifying hazards, ensuring compliance with regional laws and company standards, and managing safety documentation. The role requires the development and implementation of safety policies, execution of risk assessments, leading investigations into accidents or incidents to identify root causes and corrective actions, and conducting comprehensive safety training for staff. Maintaining collaboration with maintenance, operations, and security teams is essential to maintain a secure and safety-conscious working environment.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proficient knowledge in Occupational Health, Safety, and regulations with practical experience in safety management.
- Competence in accident investigations, including root cause analysis and applying corrective measures.
- Ability to coordinate with security personnel to support workplace safety and access control.
- Skilled in designing and delivering effective safety training sessions to diverse employee groups.
- Possession of relevant educational credentials such as a diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related fields, along with certifications like NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalents.
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial settings, preferably plastics or packaging sectors, including expertise in risk assessments, emergency response planning, and conducting safety audits.
- Excellent communication skills, meticulous attention to safety details, willingness to work onsite in Jeddah across various shifts, and dedication to promoting an active safety culture.
- Applicant must be a Saudi national.
