Overview
Join the Ministry of Education in New Zealand as a Regional Asset Planner based in Tauranga, with additional locations in Rotorua and Hamilton. This permanent role involves contributing to strategic asset planning efforts across the Bay of Plenty, Hawkes Bay, and Waikato regions to support educational infrastructure that ensures safe and effective learning environments.
Role Details
In this position, you will develop strategic planning documentation, assist in prioritising asset investments, and be involved in the initial planning stages for school projects including creating Standard Planning summaries. The role exists within the School Property group, which manages over 2,100 schools and a portfolio valued at $33.5 billion, making it one of New Zealand's largest social property holdings.
Key Responsibilities
- Support comprehensive asset planning processes across multiple regions to align with education system needs.
- Create and maintain strategic planning documents related to school property assets.
- Provide expert advice on investment prioritization for property projects.
- Contribute to the scoping and planning summaries for new or updated school facility projects.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in asset management, property planning, or project management.
- Aptitude for navigating complex organizational structures and forming effective partnerships.
- Strong strategic and analytical capabilities with an evidence-based approach to decision-making.
- Excellent communication abilities and adeptness at stakeholder engagement.
- Demonstrated commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and improving outcomes for Māori communities.
- Readiness to uphold Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.
