Role Overview and Duties
The Recreation Assistant works within a patron-focused facility, engaging directly with visitors to ensure quality service and satisfaction. Responsibilities include circulating among guests, addressing and resolving complaints, sharing information, and guiding patrons on using equipment, machinery, and facilities effectively.
The assistant facilitates patron engagement by managing equipment checkouts, delivering safety instructions, demonstrating new tools, and conducting instructional sessions or classes. Additionally, they organize, publicize, and support special events, social gatherings, tournaments, and related functions, sometimes supervising other staff members.
Employment Requirements and Qualifications
Candidates must possess a Social Security Card and be enrolled in Direct Deposit. Meeting all qualification, eligibility, and background checks relevant to the position is mandatory. A one-year probationary period might apply. Applicants must have the ability to obtain and maintain a valid USAREUR driver's license.
No formal educational qualifications are required for the role. Applicants should submit resumes limited to two pages, clearly detailing their applicable experience, skills, and competencies related to this position. Experience working directly with the general public is necessary, and all claimed expertise must be verifiable via the resume.
Additional Information and Conditions
The position considers candidates living within a 100 km radius of Miesau, including preferences for Spouse Employment Preference (SEP), Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP), and Family Member Preference (FMP) applicants.

Permanent Change of Station (PCS) relocation expenses will not be covered, as moves are deemed not in the Government's interest. Sunday premium pay and night differential pay may be authorized. Overseas employment excludes foreign allowances except post allowances contingent upon eligibility. Applicants must adhere to the Exceptional Family Member Program.

Military spouses declining participation in recruitment procedures for Regular Full-Time or Part-Time roles may forfeit their Spouse Employment Preference entitlement.
U.S. citizens residing overseas under ordinary residence status are ineligible under the Status of Forces Agreement, and NATO employment restrictions apply regarding nationality and work conditions.
