Role Overview

This contract role for a Quantity Surveyor, based in Singapore, revolves around preparing and reviewing Bills of Quantities (BOQ), aiding in cost planning, and supporting budget management for interior design and construction projects. Responsibilities include overseeing project expenditures, tracking changes, and generating cost evaluations to ensure adherence to budgets. Collaboration with design teams, project managers, suppliers, and contractors is key to obtaining quotes, assessing tenders, and negotiating prices. The role also involves maintaining detailed cost documentation and enhancing cost control procedures continuously.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and scrutinize BOQs and tender-related documents.
• Assist in cost planning and establish accurate project budgets.
• Monitor project costs and track variations to guarantee budget compliance.
• Communicate and liaise with design teams, suppliers, contractors for quotations and tender evaluations.
• Negotiate pricing when appropriate to optimize project expenditure.
• Maintain up-to-date cost records and support project managers with financial reporting.
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of cost management processes.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven expertise in cost planning and managing project budgets effectively.
• Experience with cost control measures and preparing comprehensive financial summaries.
• Skilled in preparing, analyzing, and reviewing BOQ and tender documents.
• Hold relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related disciplines.
• Familiarity with interior fit-outs, carpentry, and design-and-build projects is beneficial.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications into precise cost estimates.
• Strong analytical skills combined with meticulous attention to detail; proficient in spreadsheets and cost management software.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities across multidisciplinary project groups.
• Capacity to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt to evolving project needs.
