Psychological Services Provider

This position supports Team USA athletes and National Governing Bodies (NGBs) across the United States under the supervision of the Lead Psychological Services Provider.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a primary psychology provider and contact point for Team USA athletes and NGBs, managing crisis interventions, psychological assessments, referrals, and case management.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver tailored psychological services for Olympic and Paralympic athletes and teams.
• Offer individual and group psychological treatment both remotely and in-person across various locations, including Training Centers and competitions worldwide.
• Maintain excellent communication and service standards at all times.
• Develop educational psychology resources for coaches and NGBs to support athlete psychological health.
• Support USOPC Psychological Services registries and referral pathways.
• Implement psychological services policies and assist in training athletes, coaches, and staff on these protocols.
• Promote a safe, equitable, healthy, and culturally diverse environment for all team members and athletes.
• Provide psychological coverage for events, training camps, and competitions, including Olympic and Paralympic Games, and implement care strategies at major events.
• Consult stakeholders to design individualized psychological service plans based on high-performance needs and resident/camp program requests.
• Comply fully with HIPAA standards for documentation, recording all encounters promptly in electronic medical records.
• Manage psychological services within licensure and ethical guidelines, maintaining compliance with state laws where services are delivered.
• Adhere to regulations from IOC, USADA, SafeSport, and the Olympic & Paralympic Code supporting athlete health and performance.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology preferred, or a Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy with equivalent experience.
• Active mental health provider licensure in applicable states.
• Certification as a Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) by AASP.
• Current CPR certification.
• Completion of Anti-Doping certification within 30 days of employment start.
• Minimum 2 years of experience providing psychological services to elite and diverse athletes.
• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
• Strong knowledge of psychotherapy, clinical and counseling psychology, sport psychology, exercise science, kinesiology, and motor skill development.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity and multicultural counseling competence.
• Understanding of and adherence to professional, legal, and ethical standards.
• Ability to assess, diagnose, and implement effective treatment plans.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Skilled in Microsoft Office and other computerized systems.
• Strong interpersonal skills and integrity, with experience working with diverse populations including athletes, coaches, staff, physicians, and volunteers.
• Consistent compliance with health and safety regulations at all jurisdictional levels.

Work Environment & Conditions

• Use of standard office and audio-visual equipment.
• Work based in healthcare facility settings with occasional irregular hours including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations.
• Willingness and ability to travel both domestically and internationally as required.
• Maintaining organized, clean, and safe work areas is mandatory.
• Regular attendance is essential for this role.

Additional Information

• Salary range between $110,000 and $115,000 annually.
• The position is full-time, exempt, with a 40-hour workweek.
• Eligibility for the Annual Incentive Award Program with a 15% target, subject to change at the organization's discretion.
