Organisation Background
On 1 April 2026, the merger of NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) and NHS Education for Scotland (NES) formed Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland), a unified national entity focused on enhancing health and care services sustainability across Scotland. Role Overview
The NHSScotland Assure Directorate offers a broad spectrum of expert services including clinical, infection prevention, construction, engineering, environmental, and facilities support to Health Boards, the Scottish Government, and public sectors. Its responsibilities include commissioning, screening, national contracting, outbreak responses, policy development, and compliance reviews.
The Project Manager will be pivotal in overseeing project initiation, approval, and delivery processes within NHS Scotland Assure, managing project schedules, risks, and resources (including third-party and NHS Scotland contributions) to ensure quality outcomes on time and within budget. Additionally, the role includes providing internal consultancy and quality improvement services focused on healthcare facility projects.
Key Service Areas Supported
- External Facilities Services: Deliver technical and operational guidance regarding healthcare facilities, focusing on catering, domestic, laundry, portering, and security service innovations.
- Estates and Facilities Services: Manage organizational buildings to ensure safe and functional work environments, encompassing property governance, estate management, and fleet services.
- Decontamination Services: Offer engineering support, advisory assistance for health facility equipment, and operate the NHS Scotland Incident Reporting and Investigation Centre.
