About the Role
We invite applications for a seasoned Project Manager to join the Case Services team within the Digital division of the Ministry of Justice. This permanent position in Wellington offers the opportunity to lead motivated teams in a supportive, collaborative, and inclusive workplace focused on delivering exceptional results.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and motivation to project teams to successfully meet objectives.
- Manage project budgets, identify and mitigate risks and issues, escalating as necessary.
- Act as the project representative in governance and steering committee meetings.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to all stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.
- Oversee release management activities to guarantee smooth deployments.
- Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships to enhance leadership effectiveness.
Qualifications and Experience
- Hold a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or possess commensurate experience.
- Demonstrated track record managing projects within large, complex organizations.
- Proven ability to lead teams delivering high-quality projects on schedule and within budget, especially in Agile environments.
- Experience collaborating with service managers to champion business and digital transformation that improves outcomes.
- Skilled in vendor management ensuring efficient, effective, and quality solutions.
- Strong relationship-building capabilities both internally and externally.
- Public sector digital project experience is advantageous.
- Proficient in governance reporting, business case preparation aligned with Treasury's Better Business Case framework.
- Experienced with MS365 tools (including Azure DevOps, SharePoint, Teams) alongside project management systems such as FMIS and PowaPlanner.

Salary
The compensation range for this position is $118,904 to $163,344 annually, dependent on experience and skills.
