Role summary
The Production Manager position at Hop Lun USA is a full-time, on-site role in New York, NY. The person in this role will oversee daily production activities so that output aligns with quality expectations, delivery commitments, and cost goals. The job calls for strong coordination across teams, effective planning, and steady operational control to keep manufacturing running efficiently.
What you will do
- Plan and organize production activity, including schedules and workflow across teams.
- Monitor inventory and material availability to support uninterrupted production.
- Identify and resolve operational issues that could affect efficiency, quality, or timelines.
- Improve and standardize production processes and procedures.
- Track performance indicators and use production data to guide decisions.
- Work closely with quality, supply chain, and design teams to support new product launches.
- Lead, guide, and develop production team members.
- Promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with applicable standards.
- Support continuous improvement efforts across the facility.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in production management, manufacturing operations, or plant supervision, preferably within apparel, textiles, or a related sector.
- Proven ability in production planning, scheduling, and workflow improvement while balancing quality, cost, and delivery objectives.
- Strong people leadership skills, including coaching, performance management, and collaboration across functions.
- Working knowledge of quality control, safety requirements, and improvement methods such as Lean, 5S, or similar frameworks.
- Good analytical and troubleshooting skills, with experience using KPIs and production data to support decisions.
- Clear communication and strong interpersonal skills for working in a diverse and fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with production systems and ERP tools, along with standard office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and PLM.
- A bachelor’s degree in Production Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Prior exposure to global or multi-factory operations is helpful, and experience with supply chain and vendor coordination is a plus.
