Production Chemist

Role Overview

This position is for a Production Chemist working in an API and bulk drug manufacturing environment in Mumbai. The role focuses on running batch production activities safely and in line with approved procedures, while supporting plant operations, compliance, and coordination across production-related functions.

Technical Exposure

The job calls for practical experience in hydrogenation operations, use of distillation columns, and solvent recovery systems. It also involves working with plant equipment controlled through DCS systems and maintaining records in ERP/SAP platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out batch manufacturing tasks according to approved Batch Manufacturing Records, SOPs, and production plans.
• Track and operate essential API plant equipment such as reactors, centrifuges, dryers, and related utilities.
• Maintain timely and accurate entries in batch records while following cGMP, data integrity, and EHS requirements.
• Supervise operators and technicians during rotational shift-based plant operations.
• Work with QA, QC, and Engineering teams on sample handling, deviation resolution, and breakdown-related maintenance support.

Education and Experience

Applicants should hold a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Chemistry, a B.Pharm. or M.Pharm., or a Diploma in Chemical Engineering. The role requires 2 to 6 years of experience in API or bulk drug pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Additional Information

The role is based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Salary is offered in the range of INR 20,000 to 42,000 per month.
