Role Overview
The Product Development Manager will represent Infinity Global’s product development function in Asia, based in Singapore. This role collaborates closely with manufacturing partners across the region and supports the Business Development teams in Europe and North America by ensuring products are developed, sampled, validated, and launched according to client expectations.
Directly working with suppliers in China, India, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, and other key sourcing markets, the manager leads product development from concept to production launch. The position requires proactive, hands-on engagement including frequent factory visits, supplier communication, quality monitoring, and production support to guarantee flawless project delivery and consistent product excellence from initial production runs.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the main liaison between Infinity Global’s EU and US teams and Asian manufacturing partners for product development projects.
- Oversee product development and sampling from concept through final approval, ensuring alignment with customer specifications and quality standards.
- Collaborate closely with suppliers to convey technical needs, design goals, product construction details, and project timelines.
- Support pilot production runs, start-ups, and first production approvals to verify readiness and consistent quality.
- Conduct supplier site visits, assess factories, and audit capabilities focusing on production processes, technical competencies, and quality systems.
- Lead root cause analyses and corrective actions to resolve development, sampling, or production challenges.
- Work with Quality Assurance teams to enhance supplier quality practices and oversee ongoing inspections.
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project status, risks, and production readiness.
- Identify and cultivate new supplier partnerships to aid business growth and diversify sourcing strategies.
- Commit to extensive travel across Asian sourcing markets, dedicating approximately 80% of working time to supplier site support.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in product development, sourcing, supplier management, or manufacturing within the paper packaging sector.
- Expertise in paper packaging with desirable exposure to textile products.
- Strong grasp of product development, sample management, manufacturing operations, and production launch processes.
- Proven capability to foster effective supplier relations and manage cross-functional communication.
- Excellent analytical skills with a focus on problem identification and practical solution implementation.
- Detail-oriented approach to monitoring quality, production metrics, and operational performance.
- Comfortable working autonomously while coordinating with multicultural, international teams across time zones.
- Superior organizational skills with an ability to juggle multiple projects concurrently.
- Demonstrated sense of urgency, responsibility, and persistence in driving tasks to completion.
- Professional communication skills with influencing capability for internal and external stakeholders.
- Adept at thriving in a dynamic, global environment while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related area, or equivalent professional background.
- Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese is mandatory; additional proficiency in Hindi, Vietnamese or other Southeast Asian languages is an advantage.
- Ability and willingness for frequent travel across Asia to key sourcing locations including India, Vietnam, China, Cambodia, and Indonesia.
