Job description

About Partly

Partly is an innovative company building AI infrastructure tailored for the global repair industry, primarily focused on the $2 trillion automotive market. Their flagship AI, Interpreter, analyzes vehicle damage and identifies the parts required for repair, serving thousands of businesses worldwide. Founded by former Rocket Lab engineers, Partly has recently secured $50 million in Series B funding led by DST Global and other prominent investors, with headquarters in Austin, Texas, and offices in Christchurch, Auckland, and London.

The company promotes a culture that supports employees in doing their best work and has quarterly team gatherings called "Season Openers," with travel and accommodation covered. They also provide relocation assistance if needed.

Role Overview

The Product Analyst will play a pivotal role in transitioning Partly's management approach from output-based to outcome-driven, reporting directly to the Vice President of Product. This role ensures robust measurement and evaluation across Partly’s growing product suite as they expand into new markets and customer segments. The analyst will define metrics, generate actionable insights, and facilitate data-driven decision-making for product and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain measurement frameworks and define crucial product performance metrics.
  • Conduct in-depth and ad-hoc analyses on product usage, behavior, funnels, and engagement trends, providing strategic recommendations.
  • Coordinate with product managers and engineers to set success criteria, track progress, and measure the impact of initiatives.
  • Develop scalable BI dashboards using SQL, Looker, Tableau, or similar tools to deliver timely and accurate reporting.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on data instrumentation, tracking requirements, and quality assurance processes.
  • Translate complex datasets into clear insights and presentations for leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Manage data intake workflows, prioritize analytical requests, and maintain detailed documentation.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across product, engineering, data, operations, and marketing to align metrics with business goals.
  • Improve analytics infrastructure by partnering with data engineers on pipelines, metadata quality, and scalable reporting.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proficiency in SQL with experience writing complex queries for analytical purposes.
  • Experience working with BI platforms such as Looker or Tableau.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving abilities, capable of converting ambiguous business questions into measurable metrics.
  • Background in product analytics or operational data roles, preferably in fast-paced or growth-oriented companies.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across teams including engineering, product, vendors, and operations.
  • Experience designing or managing structured data intake and analytics delivery processes.
  • Knowledge of data quality standards, quality assurance methods, and feedback loops.
  • Capability to juggle multiple complex projects, prioritize tasks, and deliver high-quality results within deadlines.
  • Project and delivery management experience involving collaboration with engineering, product, and vendor teams.
  • Familiarity with data pipelines, ETL concepts, and analytics engineering.
  • Exposure to AI/ML data platforms, behavioral datasets, or large-scale analytics is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Analytics, Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Preferred qualifications include postgraduate degrees in Analytics, Product Management, or Business, or professional certifications in product, analytics, or BI.

Benefits and Workplace Culture

  • A high-trust, low-bureaucracy environment that empowers employees with autonomy and minimal process overhead.
  • Competitive salary package plus equity through employee stock options available to all full-time staff.
  • Flexible working hours with autonomy over personal schedules, with a preference for office presence in hubs like Christchurch, Auckland, and London.
  • Institute "Focus Days" twice a week featuring no meetings to encourage deep work and productivity.
  • Flexible and generous leave policy allowing time off as needed without penalties for negative balances.
  • Premium workspaces equipped with standing desks, healthy snacks, quality coffee, and drinks on tap.
  • Continuous development opportunities including lunch-and-learns, global operator talks, and access to industry experts.
  • Quarterly and annual team offsites for in-person collaboration across regions.
