About the Role
Join Rio Tinto's Materials Handling team as a Processing Operator based at the Gove site in Northern Territory. In this position, you will operate fixed and mobile plant machinery, including crushing circuits, conveyors, stackers, reclaimers, and the ship loader. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who are safety conscious, collaborative, and eager to develop their skills and advance within the mining industry.
Responsibilities
- Operate fixed plant equipment such as conveyors, crushers, screens, and ship loaders.
- Perform routine inspections and ongoing maintenance activities to ensure equipment stays operational.
- Engage proactively in safety discussions and contribute to continuous safety improvements.
- Work an 8/8 day/night roster on a fly-in-fly-out (FIFO) basis from Darwin or Cairns, with flights taken on personal time.
Requirements
- Strong commitment to maintaining safety for oneself and fellow team members.
- Readiness to work outdoors involving extensive walking; may occasionally work in confined spaces or at heights (training provided).
- Ability to be an active and cooperative team member.
