Role Overview
The Pre-Approval Specialist is instrumental in ensuring loan files are meticulously compiled and completed for underwriting. This role manages communications with borrowers, vendors, and loan officers to gather and confirm all necessary documentation, thereby improving the efficiency and quality of the loan approval process.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with borrowers and third-party entities to collect and examine required loan documents and vendor details.
- Confirm completion of vendor orders and verify supporting invoices.
- Guarantee all paperwork is complete and accurate before presenting to the underwriting team.
- Prepare thoroughly documented files ready for initial underwriting review.
- Complete all loan submission checklists as mandated.
- Oversee the loan pipeline to adhere to designated turnaround times.
- Log communications connected to loan applications systematically.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Candidate Requirements
- At least one year of experience in the mortgage industry.
- Competence in calculating income and analyzing credit reports.
- Strong communication skills for engaging effectively with borrowers.
- Familiarity with mortgage guidelines and regulatory standards.
- Proficient mathematical and analytical capabilities.
- Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
- Capacity to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines consistently.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime when necessary.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows and Google Suite applications.
- High school diploma or GED required; prior mortgage experience preferred.
