Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned and entrepreneurial Practice Manager to lead the City Solutions group within the Transportation Planning and Advisory sector in the Western region. As a pivotal part of TYLin's Advisory & Planning arm, this practice specializes in multimodal transportation planning, traffic engineering, and mobility innovation, collaborating closely with our Transportation, Water, and Buildings divisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive business expansion and strengthen client partnerships by crafting and executing strategic marketing and business development plans to meet annual revenue targets.
• Lead and manage client pursuits from conception through proposal, pricing, and negotiation phases, including assembling teams and making go/no-go decisions.
• Act as Project Principal or Project Manager on significant strategic initiatives ensuring exceptional quality, client satisfaction, and efficient resource allocation.
• Oversee regional financial outcomes encompassing revenue generation, utilization rates, profitability, and forecasting accuracy.
• Manage operational planning, including budgeting and business planning, while fostering recruitment, development, and retention of top-tier talent to cultivate a collaborative and high-achieving environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related disciplines; professional licensure is advantageous.
• Minimum of 20 years of progressive experience within consulting or public sector roles with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
• Proven track record in business development, client management, and expanding practice footprint specifically within the Southern California transportation market.
• Strong proficiency in operational management and financial stewardship.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills.

Additional Information

TYLin commits to pay equity and provides a competitive base annual salary range of $216,000 to $260,000 dependent on skills, experience, education, and competencies.
