About the internship
This remote internship is for a Policy Researcher Intern with the European Institute of Policy Research and Human Rights AISBL. The program runs for 8 weeks and is intended to build practical abilities in research, analytical writing, and policy drafting through guided supervision.
What you will do
- Review existing academic and policy sources on an approved topic in policy, law, human rights, governance, or international relations.
- Summarize findings into research notes, issue briefs, and other analytical documents.
- Take part in online mentoring or supervision sessions when scheduled.
- Prepare a supervised research paper, policy brief, or analytical report.
- Improve drafts based on supervisor feedback and research standards.
- Work remotely while meeting agreed deadlines.
- Follow expectations around ethical research practice, proper citation, originality, and academic integrity.
Who can apply
Applications are open to bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral students, as well as recent graduates, alumni, and early-career professionals with an interest in research and policy analysis. Suitable backgrounds include law, human rights, international relations, political science, public policy, governance, social sciences, management, business, economics, education, environmental studies, medicine, engineering, and related areas.
Candidates should have strong written English, an interest in policy research or related fields, the ability to work independently from a remote setup, the discipline to meet deadlines, and a willingness to follow research methods and supervisor guidance. Prior publication experience is not required.
Training structure
Selected candidates will complete a four-week methodology training phase, followed by a four-week research writing phase.
