Role Overview
This permanent full-time position within the Planning, Environment & Lifestyle division focuses on evaluating and managing plumbing and drainage applications, performing site inspections, and investigating compliance issues in accordance with legislative standards and approval conditions. The role involves detailed report preparation and collaboration with Senior Plumbing Inspectors and leadership to ensure consistent, compliant outcomes in planning and development activities.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements
- Evaluate plumbing and drainage applications effectively and conduct thorough compliance inspections and investigations.
- Provide accurate and clear reports to support regulatory decisions.
- Collaborate with team members and other stakeholders to maintain high standards of compliance.
- Possess relevant plumbing and drainage licenses and endorsements.
- Demonstrate strong familiarity with the Plumbing and Drainage Act, applicable regulations, codes, and standards.
- Understand associated legislation, including Local Government, Building, Environmental, Water, and Workplace Health and Safety laws.
- Experience in investigating plumbing and drainage concerns and providing expert technical advice to community and government entities.
- Ability to interpret legislative amendments and industry developments.
- Exhibit solid problem-solving capabilities and conflict resolution skills.
- Communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats, managing time efficiently and prioritizing workload effectively.
- Maintain working knowledge of the Council Planning Scheme and hold a current Queensland “C” class driver’s license.

- 9-day fortnight schedule totaling 36.25 hours per week.
- Salary range between $91,374 to $95,366 annually plus superannuation, classified as LGO5, adjusted according to skills, qualifications, and experience.
