Plant Integrated Analysis Engineer

About the Role

This position is offered through a partner company based in Ireland seeking a Plant Integrated Analysis Engineer. The role provides an opportunity to contribute to next-generation nuclear energy technologies by performing complex thermal-hydraulic and integrated plant analyses. It involves supporting model development and validation for advanced reactor systems and safety-critical applications. The position blends engineering analysis, system modeling, and collaboration across multiple disciplines to tackle challenging tasks such as reactor operations, transient event evaluations, control strategy design, and overall plant performance assessment.

Key Responsibilities

• Build RELAP5-3D models for both steady-state and transient hydraulic networks in one dimension.
• Design plant-level control strategies alongside component-level controller models.
• Validate analysis outcomes through calculations involving heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics.
• Assess normal, abnormal, emergency, and fault conditions to determine design specifications, service conditions, and operational limits.
• Conduct comprehensive transient analyses to support plant design and operational decisions.
• Perform multidisciplinary control system analyses focusing on thermal hydraulics of sodium, molten salt, and non-condensable fluids.
• Integrate component, system, fuel, and control system designs with thermal-hydraulic test data.
• Work closely with safety, instrumentation & control, and engineering design teams to solve technical challenges.
• Develop and enhance analytical methods and modeling techniques as necessary.
• Document technical findings clearly and communicate results effectively to stakeholders.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with system analysis software such as RELAP5 or TRACE.
• Strong knowledge of thermal-hydraulic analyses, one-dimensional hydraulic network modeling, and transient simulations.
• Background in modeling control and instrumentation systems is highly advantageous.
• Familiarity with nuclear power plant design or operating principles is preferred.
• Experience in developing new engineering methods or analysis approaches is a benefit.
• Excellent technical writing and documentation capabilities.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills tailored for multidisciplinary teams.
