Job Overview
AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced Planning & Scheduling Engineer based in Riyadh, KSA. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing, tracking, and controlling detailed project schedules for major infrastructure projects including roads, highways, bridges, interchanges, and transportation facilities, operating within a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain comprehensive project schedules using Primavera P6 software.
- Develop baseline timelines, work breakdown structures, and execution strategies.
- Continuously monitor project progress compared to baseline plans and highlight deviations.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, construction, and commercial teams to ensure scheduling alignment and contractual compliance.
- Assess and evaluate contractors’ schedules including baseline, revision, and recovery plans.
- Generate both short-term and long-term outlook schedules to facilitate effective project delivery.
- Track productivity and progress against plans, analyze performance along the critical path, and identify delays or risks.
- Conduct schedule variance analyses and propose corrective measures.
- Assist in crafting mitigation and recovery strategies to address scheduling challenges.
- Carry out schedule integrity evaluations and health checks regularly.
- Prepare detailed progress reports, dashboards, and presentations for management review on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Develop and monitor key planning performance indicators (KPIs) and support earned value management.
- Evaluate scheduling impacts of design modifications, variations, and claims to aid change management.
- Work with cost control and risk management teams to ensure cohesive project controls reporting.
- Support schedule risk management by identifying risks and opportunities, participating in quantitative analyses such as Monte Carlo simulations, and contributing to contingency and confidence planning.
- Engage with clients, contractors, consultants, and project teams in planning and progress meetings to provide expert scheduling advice and ensure clear communication on schedule status and critical milestones.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
- Holds professional certifications such as PMI-SP, PSP, PMP, or AACE qualifications is highly advantageous.
- Brings a minimum of 15 years’ experience in planning and scheduling major infrastructure projects.
- Has substantial expertise within a PMC or engineering consultancy environment, particularly on large-scale civil works for roads, highways, bridges, interchanges, tunnels, and transportation infrastructure.
- Experienced in reviewing contractor schedules and monitoring construction progress on significant government or major infrastructure projects.
- Deep understanding of the complete project lifecycle covering design, procurement, construction, and handover stages.
