Role Overview
This full-time position in Abu Dhabi requires the Planning Engineer to develop and upkeep meticulous project schedules, collaborating directly with project managers and on-site teams. The role's core duties encompass preparing resource allocation plans, identifying risks and delays on projects, and proposing effective corrective strategies to ensure milestone adherence. Additional responsibilities include generating comprehensive progress reports and presentations, contributing planning insights to bids and tenders, and ensuring all scheduling activities conform to company and client standards as well as regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and manage detailed project schedules using industry-standard software.
- Coordinate closely with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to optimize timelines and resource deployment.
- Monitor project progress and maintain communication with all relevant stakeholders.
- Analyze project risks and delays, providing recommendations to mitigate impact.
- Prepare regular progress reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal and client use.
- Assist tender and bid processes by supplying expert planning input.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory guidelines during planning activities.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proficient in project scheduling software such as MS Project, Primavera P6, or similar tools.
- Strong data analysis and reporting capabilities, including progress tracking and forecasting.
- Comprehensive understanding of construction or engineering project workflows and resource planning.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, contract documents, and project specifications to produce accurate schedules.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with project teams, clients, and site personnel.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Prior experience in planning or project control within the construction or infrastructure sectors, preferably in the UAE or GCC region.
- Dedicated to upholding safety and quality standards, with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving aptitude.
