Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Planning Engineer specializing in Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) within the Oil & Gas EPC construction sector. Based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, this role requires planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting on all E&I project activities to ensure milestones are met within budget and timeframe.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate, maintain, and revise comprehensive project schedules for E&I workflows using Primavera P6.
- Develop baseline timelines, recovery strategies, and upcoming activity schedules for proactive management.
- Track and evaluate the progress of projects ensuring alignment between planned and actual performance.
- Liaise effectively with project management, engineering, procurement, construction crews, and subcontractors to facilitate timely task execution.
- Generate regular progress documentation including daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
- Assess delays critically to suggest appropriate remedial measures.
- Supervise allocation and use of manpower, machinery, and materials linked to E&I operations.
- Oversee procurement schedules and delivery timelines for critical E&I components.
- Produce analytical tools such as progress measurement reports, S-curves, histograms, and productivity analytics.
- Engage in project review forums offering updated scheduling insights.
- Uphold conformity with client specifications, project standards, and internal procedures.
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a closely related field.
- 5 to 10 years of hands-on planning experience specifically in Oil & Gas EPC construction projects.
- Preferred 3 to 5 years work tenure within the Gulf region.
- In-depth understanding of Electrical and Instrumentation construction processes.
- Advanced proficiency using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Strong grasp of project scheduling principles, progress tracking, resource allocation, and cost monitoring.
- Knowledge of standards from Saudi Aramco, SABIC, ADNOC, or equivalent major Oil & Gas institutions is advantageous.
- Excellent communication, interaction, and analytical abilities.
- Capacity to work effectively under pressure and adhere to stringent project deadlines.
Desired Experience
- Previous involvement in EPC projects within the Oil & Gas domain.
- Expertise in project control protocols, planning methodologies, and structured reporting.
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary construction operations is a plus.
Compensation and Additional Information
The monthly salary ranges from SAR 5,000 to 7,000 depending on experience and interview results.
