Role Overview
As a Planner, you will design and implement the financial strategy for your department by collaborating with Merchants and Allocators. Your goal will be to enhance sales, margin, and inventory outcomes through detailed financial planning, forecasting, and data analysis. This role demands strong teamwork, adept synthesis of data into actionable strategies, and confidence to support cross-functional partners in meeting both immediate and future objectives.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with managers to devise preseason financial strategies aligned with company-wide goals.
- Construct sales, margin, and inventory plans by department and product class using historical data and trends.
- Develop detailed style plans with Merchandising, advising on rank, purchase quantity, and flow schedules.
- Compare top-down and bottom-up plans, integrating metrics like markup, unit cost, margin rate, stock availability, discount rates, and sell-through.
- Present financial plans and recommendations during investment and line review meetings.
- Provide weekly reports on sales, margin, and inventory performance versus forecasts on both general and style-specific levels.
- Work with Merchandising, Allocation, and Assortment Planning to make data-driven decisions optimizing product flow, pricing, and receipt schedules.
- Lead monthly Open-to-Buy (OTB) meetings and adjust forecasts based on trend analysis.
- Analyze sell-through rates and inventory-to-sales ratios, suggesting pricing and promotional strategies for profitability maximization.
- Collaborate with Merchandising to explore options for adjusting future orders to enhance margin outcomes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in merchandise planning, allocation, or financial analysis.
- Strong skills in analysis, financial modeling, and Excel.
- Ability to interpret data and effectively influence stakeholders across teams.
- Excellent communication and presentation capabilities.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic setting.
- Preferred experience includes planning across multiple categories or sales channels.
- Advanced knowledge of planning tools and retail analytics software.
- Track record of managing OTB and seasonal investment strategies.
- Understanding of retail metrics such as sell-through, inventory turnover, and inventory-to-sales ratio.
- Role requires working onsite in New York office Tuesday through Thursday starting September 8, 2026.

Additional Information
Salary range for this position is $80,800 to $100,400 annually, with final compensation reflecting internal equity, location, experience, skills, and other factors.
