Job description

Role Overview

Rockwell is looking to hire skilled Pipefitters for a full-time role on a mechanical engineering project based in Cork, County Cork, Ireland. This position involves a range of pipefitting duties essential to the project's success and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret engineering drawings to select appropriate pipe types, sizes, and related materials such as supports and hydraulic components in accordance with job requirements.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, project regulations, and conduct inspections to identify any onsite obstructions.
  • Strategically plan installation sequences to avoid conflicts and ensure smooth collaboration with other trades.
  • Perform all standard pipefitting operations including precise measuring, cutting (using saws, cutters, torches, machines), bending with hand or mechanical tools, and secure fixing of pipes with hangers and brackets.
  • Assemble and install metal and nonmetal pipes using varying jointing techniques such as threaded, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented connections with appropriate hand tools.
  • Test piping systems for leaks by pressurizing pipes and monitoring pressure gauges.
  • Weld pipe supports to steel structures as required.
  • Operate power tools and manage transportation and handling of materials and equipment efficiently.
  • Maintain own small tools and equipment in proper working order.
  • Perform duties both indoors and outdoors, adapting to site conditions.
  • Complete additional related tasks as requested.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Must hold a craft qualification certificate relevant to pipefitting.
  • Demonstrated experience in a pipefitting role within a mechanical contracting environment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a diverse team.
  • Strong communication skills and organizational capability.
  • Possession of valid Safe Pass and Manual Handling certificates is mandatory.
  • Having personal transportation is essential for this position.
