Role Summary
This is a full-time, on-site Payroll Specialist position in Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates. The role covers the complete payroll cycle, from gathering and checking employee information to calculating salaries, overtime, and deductions, and then running payroll accurately and on schedule. It also includes managing payroll-related taxes, statutory deductions, and garnishments, producing payroll reports, and matching payroll data with accounting records. The position works closely with HR and finance, answers employee questions about pay and benefits, safeguards sensitive payroll data, and helps improve payroll processes while ensuring compliance with local labor requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Run the full payroll cycle from data collection through final payment processing.
- Verify employee records and ensure payroll inputs are complete and accurate.
- Calculate wages, overtime, deductions, taxes, garnishments, and other mandatory withholdings.
- Prepare payroll statements and reports for internal review and accounting use.
- Reconcile payroll outputs with accounting and finance systems.
- Work with HR and finance teams to resolve payroll issues and maintain smooth operations.
- Respond to employee questions regarding salary, deductions, and benefits-related payroll matters.
- Protect payroll information and maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
- Support improvements in payroll processes, controls, and compliance practices.
- Ensure payroll activities align with local labor laws and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Solid experience in payroll administration and end-to-end payroll processing.
- Background in payroll taxes and the use of payroll service providers or systems.
- Understanding of garnishments and statutory deduction handling in line with regulations.
- Comfort working with payroll and HRIS tools, spreadsheets, and basic accounting concepts.
- Strong precision, numerical accuracy, and organizational discipline.
- Ability to keep information confidential and coordinate effectively with different teams.
- Capability to work under firm deadlines.
- Prior payroll experience in multi-entity or diversified business environments is an advantage.
- A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred.
