About the Role
Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join their Payroll Department on a permanent full-time basis at their spacious office located in Mitcheldean, Gloucestershire. This position offers an excellent chance for someone aiming to enhance their payroll expertise or advance their career in a collaborative and professional workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage accurate and timely processing of payrolls on a weekly, fortnightly, and monthly schedule.
- Handle administration tasks related to new employees, terminations, tax code assignments, statutory deductions, pension contributions, and necessary payroll modifications.
- Ensure adherence to HMRC regulations, Construction Industry Scheme (CIS), Real Time Information (RTI) submissions, pension auto-enrollment, and internal payroll protocols.
- Generate invoices, reconcile payroll with financial records, and investigate any inconsistencies.
- Process customer margin payments, service fees, and financial adjustments while keeping precise audit records.
- Assist with payroll compliance checks including contractor and umbrella company verifications.
- Conduct monthly and year-end payroll activities effectively.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reporting across multiple payroll systems.
- Support additional payroll and processing duties as assigned by the Payroll & Processing Manager.
Candidate Profile
- Prior experience in payroll processing or administration.
- High level of attention to numerical accuracy and detail.
- Strong organizational capabilities and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective communication skills paired with excellent customer service orientation.
- Proficiency in payroll software systems and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- A proactive and team-oriented work ethic.
Working Hours
The position operates Monday through Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm.
Salary and Benefits
- Salary up to £32,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
- 22 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, along with an additional day off on your birthday.
- Vacation entitlement increases with service length, reaching up to 29 days.
