About the Role

Sangoma Technologies is hiring an experienced payroll leader to own the full payroll operation and manage payroll across the organization. The position is based in Atlanta, GA and focuses on both salary and hourly payroll, commission processing, payroll entries, reconciliations, analytics, and compliance across international locations.

The company is looking for someone who can fully take charge of the payroll function, improve processes continuously, and serve as the internal subject matter expert for payroll matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct the complete payroll cycle, covering weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and global payroll runs.
  • Review and reconcile payroll before submission, and confirm reports so transactions are processed correctly and on time across multiple countries.
  • Manage, coach, and support the payroll team.
  • Act as the main payroll resource for employees, outside auditors, and vendors on both domestic and international payroll topics.
  • Maintain compliance with international payroll rules, including tax equalization and different withholding tax obligations in various jurisdictions.
  • Oversee timely and accurate submission of payroll compliance filings for global operations.
  • Spot opportunities to streamline payroll operations and support the rollout of global payroll systems and automation.
  • Work closely with People, Legal, Accounting, and FP&A teams to align payroll and equity-related matters.
  • Prepare accurate monthly general ledger entries in coordination with the accounting team.
  • Build ad hoc and recurring payroll and finance reports for different teams and regions.
  • Handle PTO administration with HR and local managers.
  • Take on additional duties as needed to support team and company goals in a changing business environment.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of payroll management experience, including 3 or more years leading global payroll teams, or an equivalent mix of education and progressively responsible experience.
  • Strong ability to lead people and build effective teams.
  • Experience managing payroll across multiple U.S. states and internationally for both exempt and non-exempt employees.
  • Solid expertise in tax equalization and deep knowledge of global payroll laws and compliance.
  • Practical experience using ADP Workforce Now and Deel payroll software.
  • Good understanding of SOX compliance and working with auditors and external service providers.
  • Thorough knowledge of U.S. and international payroll regulations.
  • Analytical, process-oriented mindset with a track record of improving payroll operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is preferred; an associate degree is also acceptable. Strong working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now, Microsoft Word, Excel, and 10-key is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with international teams.
