The Payroll Advisor is responsible for administering payroll services by following established standard operating procedures. The role ensures a reliable, accurate, and secure payroll and pension payment process, providing assistance and support to employees and pensioners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage payroll and pension processing accurately and confidentially in line with governance for all country-specific requirements.
  • Ensure correct calculation and processing of back pay, partial pay, leave pay, overtime, cost center changes, and regulatory payments such as PAYE, NSSF, and pensions, ensuring proper authorization.
  • Maintain organized documentation of all payroll authorizations promptly.
  • Handle expatriate payroll requirements in coordination with external advisors like PWC and KPMG.
  • Prepare standard and ad hoc payroll reports monthly and annually for regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders.
  • Comply with minimum payroll standards outlined in HR procedures manuals.
  • Complete tax year-end processes accurately and on schedule.
  • Process payroll dues according to governance requirements.
  • Adhere fully to regulatory, risk management, and internal policy frameworks ensuring risk is understood and managed effectively.
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of payroll and pension records to limit risk and support excellent customer service.
  • Contribute to enhancing operational processes within payroll and pension functions.
  • Distribute payslips and execute additional administrative tasks assigned.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by resolving employee and pensioner payroll inquiries professionally.

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources or Finance is advantageous.

Experience

  • Minimum of three years of payroll experience.
  • Experience in HR administration.
