Operations Courier

About the Role

Join UPS, a globally recognized Fortune 500 company, as an Operations Courier where you will play a key role in safely transporting road freight using cost-effective routes while delivering excellent customer service. This position is based in Gladstone Park, Victoria, Australia, and requires a candidate who thrives in a dynamic, safety-focused environment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform delivery and pickup duties covering metropolitan and regional locations.
• Plan and organise outbound freight using effective route schedules; inspect and verify package labels.
• Report any packaging faults or damaged goods promptly to management.
• Use appropriate equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to load and unload vehicles.
• Secure freight to prevent shifting during transit.
• Complete delivery runs punctually and obtain recipient signatures as proof of delivery.
• Provide exceptional customer service during all interactions.
• Implement proper package handling and security protocols.
• Resolve delivery issues including damaged items or inaccessible addresses.

Required Experience and Skills

• At least six months’ experience in a similar courier or delivery role.
• Possession of a valid driver's license for two-axle rigid vehicles with a clean driving record.
• Skillful operation of material handling equipment including forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Strong customer service aptitude.
• Physical fitness capable of handling delivery demands.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift items up to 20kg, with typical loads between 2-10kg.
• Endurance for constant standing, walking, and occasional squatting during lifts.
• Strength to operate pallet jacks and moving trolleys involving push/pull effort.
• Willingness to work briefly in cold conditions down to -4°C.
• Maintain alertness and adhere to safety standards at all times.
