Nutrition Program Lead

Overview

The Idaho Foodbank is seeking a dedicated Nutrition Program Lead to act as the organization’s subject matter expert in nutrition education, standards, and related services. This full-time role, based in Meridian, ID, reports to the Director of Health and Nutrition. The position requires development and upkeep of nutrition curricula, resources, and procedures to ensure the delivery of high-quality nutrition programs statewide. The Lead will provide technical assistance and coaching to staff, volunteers, and community partners, aiming to promote consistent, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed nutrition initiatives accessible to diverse populations.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the organization's expert resource for nutrition education and standards.
• Create and regularly update nutrition curricula, recipes, newsletters, toolkits, and supporting resources for statewide use.
• Offer training, coaching, and assistance to coordinators, volunteers, and partners to enhance nutrition education and program engagement.
• Ensure nutrition programs are culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and tailored for different languages, literacy levels, and cultural dietary practices.
• Support and engage volunteers and community partners through nutrition-related training and resource provision.
• Promote consistent use of nutrition tools, including toolkits, pantry assessments, outreach, and educational materials.
• Maintain and advocate for the organization’s nutrition framework and food categorization standards.
• Assess and categorize food items based on nutrition standards to guide nutrition goals.
• Collaborate with sourcing, inventory, operations, and program teams to incorporate nutrition standards into procurement and distribution.
• Lead menu planning, recipe review, and nutrition analysis for specialized programs like School Backpack and other targeted efforts.
• Stay updated on nutrition science, food assistance trends, and best practices, recommending necessary resource updates.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, guidance documents, and training materials for statewide program uniformity.
• Monitor participation, outcomes, and compliance reporting to support program evaluation and improvement.
• Manage program records, databases, and documentation related to nutrition programming.
• Assist with collection and management of participant surveys, waivers, and data per organizational and funder requirements.
• Identify areas for program enhancement based on data, feedback, and best practices, promoting quality assurance.

Additional Information

This position involves collaboration with regional coordinators to integrate programming and meet departmental goals. Duties may evolve in alignment with organizational objectives. The role is classified as full-time, hourly, and non-exempt.
