Night Shift Cleaning Technician - 4-Day Work Week

About the Role

We are looking for dedicated Night Shift Service Technicians to join our team in Madison Heights, MI. This position involves hands-on deep cleaning of commercial kitchen equipment, including route-based fryer cleaning, oil microfiltration, and supporting equipment maintenance. This job requires dependable, self-motivated individuals who prefer working independently in a structured setting but are also willing to collaborate and assist teammates as needed.

This role is part of Filta Environmental Kitchen Solutions, a firm specializing in eco-friendly services that help businesses extend the life of their cooking oil, reduce waste, and maintain cleaner commercial kitchens.

Key Duties

• Conduct thorough deep cleaning of commercial kitchen equipment and environments.
• Perform fryer cleaning and oil filtration services effectively.
• Ensure punctual attendance and reliable completion of all assigned shifts.
• Provide outstanding customer service at each service location.
• Manage service routes efficiently to meet schedules.
• Operate and maintain company equipment responsibly.
• Adhere to safe driving practices and keep service vehicles clean and organized.
• Follow safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment at all times.
• Maintain clear and prompt communication with management.
• Utilize company service software/app accurately for daily tasks.
• Work independently and support team tasks such as coverage and scheduling adjustments when necessary.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, required by the insurance policy.
• Have reliable personal transportation to commute to and from the work location.
• Be physically fit to perform frequent standing, bending, kneeling, ladder climbing, twisting, scrubbing, pushing/pulling, and lifting up to 75 pounds.
• Able to work in fast-paced environments that are not climate-controlled, often quite warm.
• Exhibit strong communication skills.
• Demonstrate the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment and Schedule

This position requires physical work in hot, non-air-conditioned commercial kitchen settings. The night shifts begin at 5:30 PM and last for 10 to 12 hours leading into early morning hours. Employees work a 4-day week with scheduled shifts on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, offering three full days off each week.

Compensation and Benefits

• The hourly pay starts at $21 and increases to $21.50 after six months based on performance evaluations.
