About the Role

As a Multimedia Producer within the University of Florida's Chemical Engineering Master's Program, you will play a key role in generating innovative project ideas, developing scripts, and storyboards to clearly convey our vision. This position involves coordinating with talent and subject matter experts, scheduling and leading interviews, crafting questions, and scouting filming locations to establish visual narratives. You'll manage all aspects of audiovisual production for university events and campus initiatives aligned with UF's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

Generate and storyboard creative, high-quality multimedia content that enhances the university’s brand.
Independently create interview scripts, questions, and guide conversations.
Oversee and manage the SCM studio environment.
Coordinate with on-camera talent including scheduling, location scouting, and props preparation.
Edit and color grade footage using non-linear editing tools such as Adobe Premiere and Davinci Resolve.
Lead equipment setup and transportation for on-site or off-site projects, ensuring smooth operation during production.
Research and evaluate industry trends and technologies to improve content quality and creativity.
Provide multimedia support to campus partners including event coverage and maintenance of digital asset repositories.
Maintain organization of digital content archives and perform routine equipment maintenance.
Communicate effectively with university stakeholders and provide training on audiovisual best practices.
Complete other projects and tasks as assigned, including occasional evening, weekend, and in-state travel.

Qualifications

The minimum qualification is a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field coupled with at least two years of pertinent professional experience, or an equivalent blend of education and work background.

Preferred qualifications include:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field with three to five years of experience.
Experience directing on-camera talent and managing professional studio and location lighting.
Strong proficiency in video editing and multimedia software such as Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Davinci Resolve, and Fusion.
Excellent oral and written communication skills enabling effective engagement with a diverse university community.
Ability to craft compelling visual storytelling through lighting, composition, and camera work.
Skilled at sound mixing and audio design.
Competency in post-production styling and editing techniques.
Highly self-motivated with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Positive, professional demeanor with initiative and teamwork capability.
Experience with animation or motion graphics is advantageous.

Working Conditions

The regular work hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with some events scheduled evenings and weekends requiring availability. Some in-state travel is also expected. Employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to work remotely or attend campus during emergencies.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range is $45,000 to $55,000, depending on qualifications and experience. University of Florida offers comprehensive benefits and generous paid leave.
