Established in 1861, Westpac New Zealand has evolved from the Bank of New South Wales into a leading financial institution serving a broad spectrum of customers nationwide. The bank caters to individuals ranging from children opening their first accounts to first-time home buyers, large businesses, and government entities. With a widespread network of nearly 100 branches and over 350 ATMs, Westpac offers extensive personal, business, and agribusiness banking solutions across New Zealand. Role Overview

The Mobile Lending Manager role is a permanent, full-time position located in Wellington that embraces a hybrid working model blending office presence with remote work flexibility. The incumbent will engage directly with clients at various locations to assess their lending needs, focusing primarily on home loans and personal credit. This role encompasses the full lending lifecycle, from initial inquiry, through evaluation and approval, to settlement, ensuring strict adherence to internal policies and regulatory guidelines.

Key activities include conducting lending consultations, preparing necessary documents, tracking application progress, and proactively uncovering opportunities to support customers' broader financial objectives. Building and nurturing robust relationships with customers, referral sources, and internal teams is essential for expanding the lending portfolio and delivering superior service experiences.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in lending or banking, particularly in home lending or personal credit evaluation, with in-depth understanding of lending policies and compliance requirements.
  • A customer-centric approach with excellent communication skills, capable of delivering personalized financial advice both face-to-face and through digital channels.
  • Proven sales and business development expertise, adept at identifying opportunities, meeting targets, and managing customer pipelines efficiently.
  • Strong analytical capabilities alongside keen attention to detail in documentation, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously within a mobile, hybrid work environment, effectively managing time and adapting to evolving customer and organizational demands.
  • Proficient in utilizing banking platforms, CRM systems, and common office software, comfortable engaging clients through digital tools.
  • Possession of relevant tertiary qualifications in finance, business, commerce, or related disciplines is advantageous; industry certifications in lending or financial services are preferred.
  • Experience within New Zealand’s banking or financial sector and familiarity with local housing and lending markets is beneficial.
